My name is Max Wright and I am the Owner of Boardroom Partner.

Along with my Associates, who are all experts in their own field, we provide both One to One and Group Mentoring for businesses ranging from pre-start ups, to well-established SME companies, and everything else in between.

I have almost 40 years experience as a Serial Entrepreneur, having started, grown and sold more than a dozen businesses in various fields.  Throughout this journey I have learnt the hard way how to succeed, but in order to do so, I made many mistakes, but learnt from them all and tried to never make the same mistake twice!

Whilst some of my businesses remained quite small, a couple grew to have a turnover in excess of £20M and one had a staff of over 150 and a vehicle fleet of 60!  Two of my businesses sold for seven figure sums, whilst others sold for just a couple of thousand pounds!  However, what I have learnt is that all businesses, however large or small, need to be efficient and well run in order to succeed and whilst many people have great ideas for a business, without the right skills and knowledge, they will never realise their full potential.

Perhaps you already have a successful business, or maybe you just have a great idea and want to turn it into a business.  Whichever one of these you are, I am sure we can help you to start, grow and develop your business, to make it more successful, profitable and ultimately enable you to have an exit route so you can capitalise on what you have built.

Many people start their own business because they have a particular skill or know a sector very well and spot an opportunity.  Others just spot an opportunity that they think hasn’t been previously exploited.  But knowing your area of expertise is only half the story.  To compensate for the missing skill areas, the big mistake that is often made is to take on a “partner” with complimentary skills, but so many times, this just doesn’t work and what was potentially a great opportunity, ends up in tears.

A much better idea is to engage a “Mentor”, someone who has all of the complimentary skills and business knowledge you will ever need, but they are only there when you need them and they do not “interfere” in your business, they only advise and recommend what you should do, whether or not you take their advice is up to you and getting rid of a Mentor is very easy, unlike getting rid of a partner, I know, I have been there and done that!

This is where we come in.  Whether you are starting out, have an established business, or already have a partner and it is not quite working right, let us use our skills and experience to help you make the right choices and decisions, in a way that suits you.  We are great at listening and can help you design the road map, the business plan and the financial forecasts as well as pretty much everything else you may need to do, but feel you don’t personally have enough knowledge and skill to do.

We are very flexible in how we work, but usually recommend getting together at least once a month for a face-to-face Board Meeting, where we can discuss any issues you want and try to resolve them and make plans going forward.  There are no politics or clashes, which often happens in other Boardrooms, and we are totally on your side, there to help you; at the end of the meeting, we leave you to do what you do best, run your business. ??

Additionally, we are available on Skype (video or not), email or phone, at almost anytime, to deal with any issues that may crop up or maybe you just want to bounce an idea off us.
